Deep City Meat is the leading producer of quality beef in Africa. Established in 1974 in South Africa, the Deep City Meat Group is world-renowned for its premium quality beef. The Deep City Meat family have actively shaped the South Africa meat industry and internationally as members of The South African Feedlot Association and the Red Meat Abattoir Association.
We buy cattle from leading cattle breeders and cattle farmers in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. We employ state-of-the-art technology and an industry-leading, humane and scientific approach to cattle feeding and processing beef. Our meticulous beef production process ensures our cattle are monitored for quality from gate to plate.
This means Deep City Meat can claim without doubt to produce the best quality beef on the continent. Deep City Meat is the largest beef producers in Africa, accommodating up to 210 000 head of cattle at our Heidelberg Feedlot, Nigel Farm, Albert Falls facility and multiple holding stations.
Deep City Meat continuously sets the benchmark for excellence in the beef production industry. We were the first and is now the largest beef producers in South Africa to achieve the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) food standards accreditation in 2007. We were also the first to achieve the subsequent FSSC 22000 accreditation – one of the highest Food Safety Management System (FSMS) certifications that can be attained worldwide. Because the quality of our beef is a non-negotiable, we always maintain the highest food safety accreditation certifications available worldwide.
